Direct Method

• Rinse stones thoroughly under cold running water before each use
• Keep water temperature below 40 °C – higher temperatures can cause stress cracks

• Let the water sit for at least 3–8 hours, ideally overnight

Indirect Method

In the indirect method, the stone is placed outside the water – for example, underneath a glass pitcher. According to tradition, the energetic result is said to be comparable. This method is especially recommended for stones where direct water application is uncertain.
