If you're looking to buy micromounts, Crystal Paradise offers a hand-picked selection of finely crystallized miniature minerals – each piece a small wonder of nature, mounted in a compact box and ready for your collection. Micromounts are tiny, but they bring out the full beauty of a mineral: razor-sharp crystal forms, vibrant colors, and a depth of detail that never ceases to amaze even experienced collectors.
What are Micromounts – and why are they special?
The term micromount refers to mineral specimens whose actual crystal group is smaller than one centimeter and is fixed on a small base or in a hinged box. When viewed under a magnifying glass or a simple stereo microscope, structures that are barely visible to the naked eye are revealed: perfect octahedra, needle-like clusters, crystal-clear points. It is precisely this combination of compactness and richness of detail that makes micromounts a collecting area of its own with a loyal worldwide fan base.

- Scientifically interesting – ideal for studying crystal systems
- Decorative – a real eye-catcher in a display case or on a desk
- Gift idea – original, high-quality and suitable for any occasion

Buy Micromounts – our selection from all over the world
At Crystal Paradise, we source our micromounts directly from specialized dealers and at mineralogy fairs – including from Germany, Morocco, Peru, the USA, and Pakistan. Each piece is personally inspected, correctly identified, and labeled by us. For each micromount, you receive a clear species designation with the locality, so you know what you have in your collection. This is important to us, because blind labels do neither you nor science any good.
Our assortment includes classic species such as pyrite, fluorite, calcite, and quartz, as well as rarer finds: tiny hemimorphite clusters, luminous wulfenite tablets, or metallic gleaming galena cubes. The selection changes regularly because good pieces in this format are rare and sought after – so it's worth checking back often.
Micromounts as a gift – an idea that will be well received
Are you looking for an extraordinary gift for someone who loves minerals or is just starting out? A micromount in its small box is visually and substantively impressive. We can carefully package it for you upon request and include a short description of the mineral. Feel free to also check out our Christmas gifts – there you will find more ideas for mineral fans. If you are interested in larger showpieces, you will find what you are looking for in our Amethyst Geodes collection.
Frequently Asked Questions
What do I need to properly view micromounts?
A simple entry-level stereo microscope with 10–30x magnification is perfectly sufficient. Alternatively, a good hand lens with 10x magnification works very well for starters. Most collectors start exactly this way – and are then completely surprised by the wealth of detail that suddenly appears.
How are micromounts shipped?
Each piece is already fixed in a collector's box or securely packaged so that it safely survives transport. We carefully cushion all shipments and ship from Munich – you will usually receive your delivery within 2–4 working days. For delicate pieces, we use additional foam inserts.
Are the minerals in your micromounts correctly identified?
Yes. We attach great importance to correct species designation and reliable locality information. As a specialized mineralogy business, we make no compromises when it comes to labeling. If you are unsure about a piece or would like to learn more about a species, you can reach us at any time via our contact form – we will reply personally.
